Prachanda claims to form government on his own; Challenges to open files of corruption again

Kathmandu: The leader of the main opposition party and the Chairperson of the CPN (Maoist Centre), Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, has said he will resist any attempt to misuse the parliamentary majority to sell the country to mafias.

Addressing the House of Representatives meeting on Thursday, Chairperson Dahal said he is not part of the game of power and claimed to form the government on his own.

‘I still find the friends of the coalition being afraid of flipping the game of the powers with a move of the CPN (Maoist Centre). I will reiterate once again from this respected Parliament that we are no longer part of the game of power. You can see, we have turned towards the people. We have turned towards the dreams and commitments of martyrs,’ said Chairperson Prachanda said.

He said, ‘We were a bit tainted and dusty because of the association with you. We were a little distanced from the basic classes. But by shaking off that dust and dirt, we have once again turned back to the poor, marginalized, and underprivileged.’

The Chairpersons questioned whether there was trust between the ruling parties or not. He urged them not to secure each other’s seats due to the fear of the opposition.

Moreover, Chairperson Prachanda accused the government of hiding criminal files. He said once a government is formed under his leadership, he will expose all of them and dismantle the coalition of middlemen and politics.

Prachanda accused the current government of making the public unhappy and pleasing the middlemen.

He said, ‘The respective selfish groups should understand that the freedom, you gained by buying the government, will not be sustainable.’

Chairperson Dahal also challenged to open the files of corruption after returning to power. He said, ‘The state resources and assets you have seized will not be permanent. I challenge from this podium today – these files will be reopened. We will open these criminal files again with the power of the people. We will restart the servicing of democracy and good governance. We will once again dismantle the coalition of middlemen and politics.’
