Skirmish between potesters and security personnel in Pathibhara; Out of 18, 3 critically injured

Kathmandu: At least 18 people have been injured in a skirmish between security personnel and protesters, who were opposing the construction of a cable car in the Pathibhara area of Taplejung.

According to the District Administration Office, Taplejung, 13 police personnel and five protesters were injured in the skirmish on Saturday.

Among the injured protesters are Yam Bahadur Limbu, Sagun Lawati, Dharman Palungwa, and Mangal Lawati. The identity of one injured protester has not been disclosed.

It has been reported that the condition of Limbu, Sagun, and Palungwa is critical. The critically injured have been taken to Biratnagar for treatment.

On the police side, various ranking officials, from constables to inspectors, have been injured in the clash.

The skirmish occurred in the evening at Baludanda, located above Kaflepat on Saturday.
