‘What about Dalits?’ (Photo Feature)

Kathmandu: “The ‘Dalit Campaign for Dalits, Nepal’ has demonstrated its demand for implementing inclusive provisions guaranteed by the Constitution.

The campaign reached the Election Commission’s office on Wednesday. The campaigners urged the commission to ensure proper representation of the Dalits.

Khagendra Sunar-led campaign demanded guaranteeing Dalit representation in positions such as mayor, chairperson, and vice-chairperson from the local to the national level.

Additionally, the campaign emphasized ensuring 14% inclusive representation of Dalits in the proportional representation system.

The campaigners gathered at Bhrikuti Mandap and marched to the commission. They are preparing to submit a memorandum to the Commission.
