Dr Arzu Rana Deuba: Bipin is safe; Talks with Qatar’s foreign Minister for Bipin’s release underway

Kathmandu: Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Arzu Rana Deuba has expressed a belief that Nepali student Bipin Karki, whom Hamas turned into a hostage, is safe and will return to his home country.

In a meeting of the International Relations and Tourism Committee, under the House of Representatives (HoR), held on Monday, Minister Dr Arzu expressed the return of Karki.

Minister Rana said she is initiating the process for Bipin’s release via Qatar. She said, ‘There is a program to have telephone conservation with Qatar’s Minister of Foreign Affairs tomorrow regarding the release of Nepali student Bipin Karki.’

‘I hope Bipin is safe, and I believe he will be released, ‘said Minister Dr. Arzu.

Earlier, Minister Dr Rana requested Ambassadors of Egypt and Qatar for Nepal, to take special initiative for Bipin’s release.

Palestinian militant group Hamas attacked Israel on October 7, 2023. 10 Nepali students and around 1200 people died in the attack. Hamas made around 250 people, including Bipin, their hostage.
