Home Minister Lekhak: Amendment of laws for economic development

Kathmandu: Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak has said the amendment of laws through an ordinance was for the economic development of the country.

Addressing the 25th annual general meeting of the Nepal Stationery and Educational Goods Industry Association here today, Minister Lekhak reminded that the government had adopted the policy of utilizing and promoting national products.

‘The ordinance will help amend laws, thereby paving the way for industrial development and governance reform,’ he added.

The amendment of laws was for facilitating the export of IT services. Even the decision on investment by the non-resident Nepalis was made by the Cabinet, according to the Home Minister.

Moreover, the government created a legal basis for Nepal’s information technology companies to invest abroad by opening office branches.
