Los Angeles wild fire: Death toll reaches 5

Kathmandu: Five people have died due to a wildfire in the forests of Los Angeles.

The Los Angeles Sheriff’s Office reported the death of an additional 3 people taking the death toll to 5 as of Thursday morning. Earlier, officials confirmed the deaths of two people.

According to a BBC report, five individuals died due to a fire in the Eaton area of Altadena.

More than 1,000 structures have been destroyed since the wildfires first blazed on Tuesday. More than 100,000 people have been evacuated so far.

Los Angeles County Fire Chief Anthony Marrone said the fire in Eaton has now spread across 10,600 acres of land. Due to its widespread, it has not been brought under control yet.
