President Paudel issues ordinance on cooperatives

Kathmandu:  President Ram Chandra Paudel has issued an ordinance to amend the Nepal Act to manage some inconsistent acts and laws related to Cooperatives.
President Paudel issued the ordinance in accordance with Subsection (1) of Article 114 of the constitution, upon the recommendation of the Council of Ministers.

The Council of Ministers meeting, held last Tuesday, submitted a recommendation to President Paudel, regarding the need for an ordinance to address some important issues and challenges seen in the cooperative sector.

Likewise, the ordinance is expected to make the cooperative sector more transparent and efficient. The ordinance also aims to prevent the misuse of cooperatives, increase financial transparency, and make it easier for the people to receive benefits from the cooperative service.
