Sudurpaschim Royals reach finals of NPL

Kathmandu: Sudurpaschim Royals have booked their spot in the final of the Nepal Premier League (NPL).

Sudurpaschim Royals defeated Janakpur Bolts by 8 wickets at T.U International Cricket Ground on Wednesday.

With this, Sudurpaschim have become the first team to reach the finals. Now,  Janakpur Bolts have to defeat Karnali Yaks in Qualifier 2, scheduled on Thursday, to reach the finals.

Sudurpaschim Royals chased the target of 140 runs in 18.3 overs with a loss of 2 wickets.

Binod Bhandari scored a half-century for the Sudurpaschim Royals. He was unbeaten at 58 runs. He smashed 3 boundaries and 3 sixes out of 55 balls.

Dipendra Singh Airee was also unbeaten at 20 runs and Saif Zaib scored 32 runs for the team.

Lalit Rajbanshi and Kishore Mahato took 1 wicket each for Janakpur Bolts.

In the first innings, Janakpur Bolts scored 139 runs in 20 overs losing 9 wickets.

James Neesham scored 45 runs and Shubh Kansakar scored 26 runs for Janakpur Bolts.

Captain Dipendra Singh Airee took 3 wickets for Sudurpaschim Royals. Saif Zaib took 2, and Scott Kuggeleijn and Abinash Bohara took 1 wicket each for the team.
