First defeat of Janakpur Bolts in NPL; Sudurpaschim Royals defeated by 72 runs

Kathmandu: Janakpur Bolts have lost their first match in the Nepal Premier League (NPL).

Sudurpaschim Royals defeated Janakpur Bolts by 72 runs at T.U. International Cricket Ground on Wednesday.

Janakpur Bolts failed to chase the target of 124 runs. They were packed in 51 runs in 12.1 overs.

Joshua Tromp scored 13 runs for the Janakpur Bolts. The rest of the players failed to score a double-digit run.

Captain Dipendra Singh Airee, Harmeet Singh, and Ishan Pandey took 2-2 wickets for the Sudurpaschim Royals. Saif Zaib, Naren Saud, and Scott Kuggeleijn took 1 wicket each for the team.

In the first innings, Sudurpaschim Royals scored 123 runs in 20 overs with a loss of 9 wickets.

Binod Bhandari scored 33 runs and Saif Zaib contributed 21 runs for the Sudurpaschim Royals.

Kishore Mahato took 4 wickets for Janakpur Bolts. Sher Malla and Arniko Yadav took 2-2 wickets and Harsh Thaker took 1 wicket for the team. Janakpur won the toss and decided to bowl first.
