Kathmandu: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has inaugurated the Manavsewa Ashram’s District Office building and laid the foundation stone for the Manavsewa Memorial block at Aamdandi, Mechinagar Municipality-4 in the district.

Prime Minister Oli and First Lady Radhika Shakya inaugurated the building and laid the foundation of the block on Sunday. A local, Ram Bahadur Pradhan, and his family who donated two bighas and five kaththas (1.5 hectares) land to the Ashram, were honoured on the occasion.

PM Oli and First Lady Shakya announced on the occasion that they would give one month’s salary and two months’ pension, respectively, for the construction of the Ashram’s building. After the PM’s announcement, other guests and people’s representatives declared that they will also provide support for the cause.

The Manavsewa Ashram is a non-profit social organization founded in Makwanpur, Hetauda, on 29 August, 2012, dedicated to making Nepal a ‘street people free country’ by helping the most vulnerable, impoverished, disabled, homeless, physically weak or mentally or psychologically challenged people who are forced to live miserable lives in the open sky street-banks and public places.
