Sudurpaschim Royals register 2nd victory in NPL; Kathmandu Gurkhas defeated by 73 runs

Kathmandu: Sudurpaschim Royals has registered their 2nd victory in the Nepal Premier League (NPL).

Sudurpaschim Royals defeated Kathmandu Gurkhas by 73 runs at TU International Cricket Stadium in Kirtipur on Thursday.

Kathmandu Gurkhas failed to chase a target of 167 runs. Sudurpaschim packed Kathmandu in 15.5 overs in 94 runs.

Stephen Eskinazi scored 37 runs for Sudurpaschim Royals. Sumit Maharjan 14, Bhim Sharki, and Gerhard Erasmus scored 10-10 runs for the team. The rest of the players failed to touch a 2-digit number.

Sudurpaschim’s Naren Saud took 5 wickets. Abinash Bohara took 2 wickets, Brandon McMullen and Saif Zaib took 1-1 wickets.

In the first innings, Sudurpaschim Royals scored 167 runs in 20 overs with the loss of 6 wickets.

Brandon McMullen scored a half-century for Sudurpaschim Royals. He scored 53 runs in 36 balls and smashed 3 boundaries and 4 sixes.

Dipendra Singh Airee scored 43 runs, Binod Bhandari 35, and Saif Zaib 11 runs for the team.
