Sudurpaschim Royal defeats Biratnagar Kings by 90 runs

Kathmandu: Sudurpaschim Royals defeated Biratnagar Kings in its first match of the Nepal Premiere League.

Sudurpaschim defeated Biratnagar Kings by 90 runs in the match at T.U. International Cricket Stadium on Tuesday. Biratnagar Kings failed to chase the target of 183 runs. This is the second defeat of Biratnagar, in a row, in the tournament.

Sudurpaschim was all-out in 16.1 overs and scored only 183 runs. Basir Ahmad scored 24 and Rajesh Pulami 15 runs for the team. Anil Kharel was unbeaten in 10 runs. The rest of the players failed to reach a two-digit score.

Scott Kuggelejin and Abinash Bohora took 3 wickets each for Sudurpaschim Royals. Ishan Pandey, Saif Zaib, and Brandon McMullen took 1 wicket each for the team.

In the first innings, Sudurpaschim Royals posted 182 runs with the loss of 7 wickets at Tribhuvan Cricket Ground on Tuesday.

Captain Dipendra Singh Airee was unbeaten at 57 runs. Ishan Pandey scored 38, Brandon McMullan 36, Binod Bhandari 23, Saif Jaib 14, Scott Kuggeleijn 10, Aarif Sheikh 9, and Amit Shrestha 1 run for the team.

Biratnagar Kings bowlers Anil Kharel took 3 wickets, and Chris Sole, Ismat Alam, and Bashir Ahmed took 1 wicket each.

Now, Chitwan Rhinos and Pokhara Avengers will compete in the next match.
