Nepali Congress’ Dangol wins in Kirtipur, CPN (Maoist Centre)’s Maharjan becomes second

Kathmandu: The Nepali Congress has won the position of mayor in Kirtipur Municipality.

The final results of the by-election, unveiled on Sunday, show that Nepali Congress candidate Krishnaman Dangol secured victory with 5,334 votes, as reported by the Election Commission.

Similarly, CPN (Maoist Centre) candidate Prof. Dr. Shivsharan Maharjan held second position with 4,555 votes, and CPN (UML) candidate Surendra Manandhar secured third place with 4,337 votes.

Independent candidate Rajman Maharjan received 2,036 votes, while another independent candidate, Kabikumar Maharjan, garnered 1,314 votes.

In the previous local election held in 2022, the Nepali Congress had bagged victory.
