CPN (Maoist Center) candidate Rai surpasses CPN (UML) to elect as Triyuga Municipality’s Chairperson

Kathmandu: Navikumar Bantawa Rai of the CPN (Maoist Center) has been elected as the chairperson of Ward No. 12 in Triyuga Municipality, Udayapur.

According to the Election Commission, he secured 923 votes in the by-election held on Sunday. His closest competitor, Laxminarayan Chaudhary of the CPN (UML), received 608 votes.

Similarly, Sanjiv Kafle of the Nepali Congress received 359 votes, Nirmala Chaudhary of the CPN (Unified Socialist) got 312 votes, and Dhruva Pokharel of the Rastriya Swatantra Party secured 202 votes.

Out of 2,527 votes cast in Triyuga-12, 49 votes were invalid.
