Kathmandu: The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has unveiled the trophy of the Nepal Premier League (NPL).

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli unveiled the trophy on Dharahara premises on Monday. Marquee Players from 8 teams attended the program.

Eight teams representing the nation’s main region will compete in NPL. Five teams are named after main cities, and three are named after provinces. The teams competing for the title are the Janakpur Bolts, Biratnagar Kings, Karnali Yaks, Kathmandu Gurkhas, Lumbini Lions, Pokhara Avengers, Chitwan Rhinos, and Sudurpaschim Royals.

Each team will have 16 players. 80 players were selected through an auction held on October 6. Provision is made to keep 4 foreign players and 1 local iconic player on each team. NPL will begin on November 30 (Mangsir 15). B

Biratnagar Kings and Janakpur Bolts will compete in the inauguration match at 12:15 p.m. at Tribhuvan Cricket Ground. The final match will be held on December 21 (Poush 6).
