Deuba: We must take grants, not loans from BRI

Kathmandu: The main ruling party Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba has clarified the confusion related to the Chinese project Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).

Unveiling the statue of Arvind Thakur, a warrior of the democratic movement of the NC from Dhanusha, in Janakpurdham on Monday,  NC President Deuba clarified that a grant will be taken via BRI rather than a loan. He clarified that the party has a stance of taking grants from BRI rather than loans.

Interacting with the media at the airport, NC President Deuba said, ‘We must take grants, not loans from BRI.’

Likewise, he said that a discussion of the BRI Project is going on, and would soon conclude.
