Durga Prasai presented in court for extension of remand

Kathmandu: Durga Prasai, a medical entrepreneur, who was arrested on the charges of cybercrime, has been produced before the District Court.

The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police presented alleged Prasai in the court on Wednesday. SP Bogati said that Prasai was brought to the Court after he was detained for further investigation into his alleged involvement in cyber-crime-related offences.

He added that an investigation into the case will be taken forward once the court orders an extension for his judicial remand. Prasai was arrested by a team of CIB on Tuesday for purportedly circulating malicious and defamatory contents against Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli in social media.
