Tribute to former Speaker Dhungana at Sano Gaucharan (Photo Feature)

Kathmandu: Former Speaker Damannath Dhungana’s body has been kept at Sano Gaucharan, Gyaneshwor, for tribute.

Various party leaders reached out to pay tribute to Dhungana on Monday.

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli draped the national flag and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba draped the party’s flag on Dhungana’s body.

Former PM Dr Baburam Bhattarai also paid tribute to Dhungana.

Former Speaker Dhungana, who had been undergoing treatment for liver-related issues for some time, passed away at the age of 83 on Sunday afternoon at Frontline Hospital in Baneshwar. According to Dhungana’s family, after paying tribute, he will be cremated at Pashupati Aryaghat.

Likewise, a cabinet meeting, which was held at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar, decided to give a public holiday.
