Kathmandu: The death toll has reached 8 in a jeep accident, that took place in Sirad river of Shailyashikar Municipality-5.
Jeep (Ma 1 Ja 338) heading to Gokuleshwor from Malikarjun Jatra met the accident at 4:00 a.m. on Friday. Sudurpashim Province Traffic Police office Attaria said 6 bodies were collected from an accident site till Friday morning, and 2 more people died, who were taken to hospital.
Traffic Police Office Attarai Chief Police Superintendent of Police SP Rajeev Basnet said that all identification of deceased were identified. According to SP Basnet, among the deceased 2 are Indian, 2 Dilasaini Rural Municipality, Baitadi, and the other 4 are Shailyashikhar Municipality.
Likewise, Mohammad Safir (45) and Mohammad Basim (18), Birendra Rawal (30 year old) and Shanti Rawal( 28) of Shailyashikar Municipality-5, Meena Lekhak (40) of Shailyashikar , Dilip Bista (45) of Shailyashikar Municipality-9 and Sanjib Bohora (15) of Dilashaini-5 in Baitadi and Birendera Bohora (50) died in the accident.
Similarly, 5 people including jeep driver Sunil Joshi (30) of Pasti Malikarjun Rural Municipality-8 were injured in an accident.
