Lamichhane presented in court for extending his custody

Kathmandu: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chairperson Rabi Lamichhane, who was arrested in a cooperative fraud case,  has been presented in the Kaski District Court for extending his custody.

District Court Information Officer Suraj Adhikari informed Nepal Views, that Lamichhane was presented in the court after 10 a.m. on Sunday.

Following its expiration on Saturday night, the Kaski District Police Office is presenting Chairperson Lamichhane for extending his custody for the fourth time.

Meanwhile, RSP is also planning a demonstration in Pokhara today. RSP’s central committee meeting, held in Kathmandu on Saturday,  announced the second phase of protest.

Since Lamichhane’s arrest on October 18, the RSP has been protesting claiming his arrest was politically motivated. Lamichhane is facing joint charges related to cooperative fraud, money laundering, and organized crime.
