A grand welcome to Mountaineer Nirmal Purja

Kathmandu: Mountaineer Nirmal Purja ‘Nims Dai’ has returned from Indonesia.

He received a grand welcome at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) on Friday.  Purja returned after creating a record by climbing Indonesia’s Carstenz Pyramid, the final destination of 7 Summits.

Likewise,  Carstenz Pyramid is one of the 7 summits of the world, it is located in Papua Province of Indonesia. Purja standing at the top of the Carstenz Pyramid, completed his 7 Summits Challenge.

Similarly, Purja set the world record in October 2024 by climbing the world’s 14 highest peaks without oxygen in 2 years, 4 months and 28 days.
