Separate demonstration of cooperatives' victims in Pokhara

Kathmandu: The cooperatives’ victims have also staged a separate protest in Pokhara. The victims are protesting in Mustang Chowk.

Surya Darshan Savings Victims Struggle and Ad Hoc and Cooperative Savings Victims Association Kaski had scheduled to organize a protest in the Bank Chowk. However, the venue was changed to Mustang Chowk; after the District Administration Office issued a prohibition order.

Investigation of the cooperative fraud case, embezzlement of savings from the cooperative, and alleged investment in Gorkha Media Pvt. Ltd. are some of the demands of the demonstrators.

Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP ) cadres are also demonstrating in Sahid Chowk against the arrest of their Chairperson Rabi Lamichhane. The District Administration Office issued a prohibition order in various areas of the metropolitan city.

The order restricts the gathering of more than 500 people in those places. Even hunger strikes, demonstrations, sloganeering, etc. have been prohibited in those areas.
