CPN (Maoist Centre)’s By-election Strategy: Collaboration with parties other than NC-CPN(UML)

Kathmandu: The major ruling party CPN (Maoist Centre) has sent a special circular to the lower committee. The party issued a special circular, focusing on the context of the upcoming by-election on the 1st of December (Mangsir 16).

According to the circular, the preparations are going on to compete in the by-election as per the capacity of the party. CPN (Maoist Centre) Office’s Secretary Shree Ram Dhakal said, ‘The gist of the circular is to begin the preparations to compete in the by-election with own strength.’

But, the CPN (Maoist Centre) has adopted the policy of not competing with the two major political parties, the Nepali Congress (NC) and CPN (UML), the government.

‘There is a policy of collaborating with other parties, other than the ruling parties, ‘ said Secretary Dhakal, ‘This is not a coalition but only collaboration.’

Although the CPN (Maoist Centre) said to compete in the by-election on its own it has kept its door open for the collaborations.
