Nepali Congress to deposit 5 million rupees for flood-landslide victims

Kathmandu: The ruling party Nepal Congress (NC) will be depositing 5 million (50 lakh) rupees in the relief fund for the flood and landslide victims.

Spokesperson Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat said the central working committee meeting, held at the party’s President Sher Bahadur Deuba’s residence Budhanilkantha on Sunday, decided to deposit the amount in the relief.

‘NC lawmakers will deposit their 15-15 days salary,’ said Spokesperson Dr Mahat. Likewise, the party has also canceled the festive-tea-party.

Dr. Mahat said that the focus should be on the rescue of flood victims. He said, ‘We will mobilize all associations. Friends from the Central Committee will contribute to the task.’
