Kathmandu: The staging of the drama ‘Mukkumalung’ has begun at Shilpee Theatre, Battisputali. The drama is based on Dr. Chitra Mabo’s story collection ‘Doli Bharna.’

The staging of ‘Mukkumalung’ began on September 18 (Asoj 2). The drama tries to show the struggle to reestablish the original name of Pathivara, i.e. Mukkumalung Danda.

Mukkumalung is considered a heritage of faith and belief in Mundhum, which explains the philosophy of life of Yakthung (Limbu). Fedangma, Samba, and Yeba-Yema call Mundhum by different names such as Mukkumlang Mang and Semuktu Muktubung.

According to Mundhum, Mukkumalung is the abode of ‘Tageranidwafumang’ the most revered Indigenous Yakthung.

Reyar Rai, Deepa Suhang, Nusa Lingden, Pramila Rai, Prayash Bantawa Rai, Shayok Mukkarung, Divash Payangu, Uday Bega Limbu, Smriti Kulmar, Ujwal Bantawa  Rai, Lahan Rai, Suju Sunwar, Ramila Moktan, Akash Nepali, Indira Nembang, Govinda Limbu, Hiran Rai are the actors of the drama.

The credit for the design and direction of the drama goes to Pabitra Rai. The concept and playwright credit for the drama goes to Rajan Mukarung.

The drama will be staged every day at 5:15 p.m. except on Tuesday. There is also an additional show on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. The drama will conclude on October 6 (Asoj 20).
