Bhattarai’s name failed to gain unanimity for Ambassador

Kathmandu: The Parliamentary Hearing Committee has approved the proposed Ambassadors for 16 countries.

The Committee Chairperson Ishwari Neupane said that the committee meeting, which was held at Singhadurbar on Thursday, approved the names of 16 Nepali Ambassadors out of 17 recommendations.

After questions were raised about the academic certificates of Ram Krishna Bhattarai, who was a proposed Ambassador for Sri Lanka, the meeting was unable to reach unanimity. Chairperson Neupane said Bhattarai’s name was not approved due to the absence of his graduation paper.

Chairperson Neupane said that the issue would be discussed in another meeting. The different members of different parties gave different opinions while approving the name of the Ambassadors.
