Rabi Lamichhane received clean chit in cooperative’s funds embezzlement case

Kathmandu: Member of the Parliamentary Inquiry Committee Shishir Khanal said RSP Chairperson Rabi Lamichhane has received a clean chit in the cooperative’s fund embezzlement case.

Speaking with the media on Monday, Khanal spoke regarding Chairperson Lamichhane receiving the clean chit. Answering the question, ‘ Rabi got a clean Chit?’, Khanal said, ‘He was accused and claims of evidence against him of embezzlement. But he has received a complete clean chit from it.’

Khanal said the report concluded about Lamichhane not embezzling the funds of the cooperative.

‘The Inquiry Committee didn’t find any role of Rabi Lamichhane in withdrawing the cash from the cooperative. The transaction has been performed as per the direction of the directors of the cooperative; including GB Rai. The committee failed to prove the basis for which the committee was formed,’ said Khanal.

Khanal said that Lamichhane was only responsible for spending the money, brought by GB Rai to Gorkha Media,  from the cooperative.
