CPN (Maoist Centre): Word ‘violence’ is contrary to constitution and politics

Kathmandu: The major ruling party CPN (Maoist Centre) has continued its stand to remove the term ‘violence’, used by the CPN (UML) lawmaker Yogesh Bhattarai, from the record.

Addressing Monday’s House of Representatives (HoR) meeting, CPN (Maoist Centre) lawmaker Shakti repeated the party’s stand.

‘There is nothing more to say about the word ‘violence.’ But, the context, in which the word violence was used, appeared contrary to the parliament, and implies the People’s War opposing the value of public participation, constitution, and politics, ‘ said Lawmaker Basnet.

Lawmaker Basnet said that valuable manuscripts like peace agreements and constitutions accepted the word violence as a form of armed revolution but were being carelessly expressed with bad intentions.

Similarly, he claimed that the People’s War was a solution rather than a problem.
