Delhi’s Chief Minister Kejriwal announces resignation

Kathmandu: India’s Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has announced his resignation from his post.

Addressing cadres in Delhi on Sunday, Chief Minister Kejriwal announced to resign within 2 days. He said that he would not return to his post until the public would not give him a ‘Certificate of Honesty.’

‘I am going to resign from the post of the Chief Minister. I will not return to this post unless the public gives a verdict, ‘ said Chief Minister Kejriwal.

He added, ‘I will sit in Chief Minister’s Chair only after the public gives evidence of honesty and integrity, now I want to give Agnipariksha.’

Kejriwal was released on the Court’s order on Friday. He has asked to hold Delhi’s Assembly Election in November. The election is scheduled for February.

CIB arrested Kejriwal in charge of a liquor corruption case. But, he appealed to the court against the case.

The Supreme Court ordered Kejriwal to be released on bail, as there was no possibility of a full hearing immediately, along with keeping ‘personal freedom’ in mind.
