The Indra Jatra, which is celebrated every year on Bhadra Shukla Chaturdashi Day, begins officially by erecting Indra Dhwaj in front of Hanumandhoka.

Kathmandu: Indra Jatra, which is considered the biggest festival in Kathmandu, will begin on September 17 (Asoj 1).

The preparation of the festival is going on at Basantapur premises. The Indra Jatra, which is celebrated every year on Bhadra Shukla Chaturdashi Day, begins officially by erecting Indra Dhwaj in front of Hanumandhoka.

The flag-hoisting of Indra Dhwaj was brought from Bhaktapur to Kathmandu on Wednesday.

The festival is celebrated for 8 days, by performing different dances, and songs, pulling chariots, and worshipping God and Goddess.
