Kathmandu: Nepali Congress (NC) has concluded that Deputy Speaker Indira Rana Magar must resign.
The meeting of officials and former officials, held at NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba’s residence Budhanilkhanta on Wednesday, drew out the conclusion. The meeting decided to seek the resignation of the Deputy Speaker.
After the meeting, Chief Whip Shyam Ghimire said, ‘Deputy Speaker did the work which shouldn’t have been done. Her step has affected the reputation of the country. The work must have reached the Ministry of Foreign Affairs through the secretariat. She should give her resignation. Rather than going through the process, it is better if she clears the way.’
Ghimire said that it was the institutional opinion of the NC. ‘Now our parliamentary party meeting will be held. The coalition meeting will also be held, where a common perception will be made, we will move forward as per the perception, but we concluded that her action insulted the whole parliament.’
