Prohibition imposed in Biratnagar with former Chief Minister Karki’s decision to begin hunger strike

Kathmandu: The District Administration Office Morang has issued a prohibition in Biratnagar.

The District Administration issued prohibition after Koshi Province’s former Chief Minister Kedar Karki decided to begin his fast-unto-death-hunger strike in front of the Provincial Assembly Secretariat.

The Administration said that the prohibition was issued due to security reasons. Morang Chief District Officer Prem Prasad Bhattarai said that the restriction was issued for an indefinite time starting from 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Likewise, Chief Minister Karki said that he would sit on strike in front of the Provincial  Assembly Secretariat.  He gave a 48-hour ultimatum to Chief Minister Hikmat Karki with 9 demands. He warned he would sit for the hunger strike if his demands were not fulfilled.
