Transport Office Birgunj collects 1.5 billion rupees in revenue

Birgunj: The Transport Management Office, Birgunj collected more than 1.5 billion rupees in revenue in the last fiscal year, 2080/81BS. Compared to the previous fiscal year, 2079/80BS, the revenue collection upped by 171.9 million rupees.

Chief of Transport Management Office, Birgunj, Kamal Raj Gautam, informed that last year’s revenue collection was encouraging. The Office was able to collect 1.35 billion rupees in revenue in the fiscal year, 2079/80BS. 1.19 billion rupees was collected under the category of vehicles alone, while vehicle permits generated 150 million rupees.

A total of 2,229 vehicles as buses and trucks and the pieces of machinery combined were registered in the fiscal year, 2080/81BS. In the same period, as many as 645 vehicles like cars, jeeps, microbes, and ambulances were registered in the office. The number of motorcycles and scooters registered last year stood at 747. In total, the last fiscal year had a registration of 38,456 new vehicles.
