Girl raped in Dharan

Kathmandu: A young girl has been raped in Dharan.

Police said that a young woman (20 years old ) was raped, who came to Dharan from Taplejung. The girl said the accuser took her to the Bhojpure Hotel at Bhanu Chowk, Dharan on Sunday. The girl became a victim of coercion. She came to Dharan on Friday to seek a job.

Sunsari Police Chief SP Bipin Regmi said that they arrested Sagar Rai (35) of Dharan in charge of rape. The girl said that Rai asked her to meet in the hotel for getting a job but raped her.

Likewise, the woman said that she was beaten up and kept inside a room as a hostage. She went to the Police after another person opened the door. She doesn’t have any relatives in Dharan so, she has been kept under police protection.
