Teenager dies after drowning in depression-filled with water at Sarlahi

Kathmandu: A teenager has died after being drowned in depression, filled with water, on the bank of Phuljor River, Sarlahi.

The deceased has been identified as Nishant Thapa Magar (17-year-old) of Sarlahi Ishwarpur Municipality-4, Sagarnath. He went to swim with his friends on Saturday.

Magar drowned while swimming in the depression, which was filled by a crusher on the land of Ishwarpur Municipality -5’s resident Mangal Mahato, located at the eastern bank of the Phuljor River.

According to Police Spokesperson DSP Deepak Shrestha, it was difficult to search Magar’s body as it was drowned in the hole.

Likewise, a diving team of the Armed Police Force, Nepal Number 2 from the Chinnamasta Bahini Headquarters, Mahottari found Magar’s body.  The body has been taken to the Provincial Hospital for post-mortem.

Further investigation regarding the incident is going on.
