Dr Dhakal: I am still in RSP; Clarification is useless

Kathmandu: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) suspended General Secretary Dr. Mukul Dhakal has said he is still in the party.

In a conversation with Nepal Views, Dr. Dhakal said, ‘I am still in RSP. I am still RSP’s General Secretary.’

However, the party suspended him. The party took action against him for disclosing some parts of the 32-page long report prepared after visiting 38 districts to the media, before presenting the report to the party.

The party asked for clarification from Dr. Dhakal on July 4 (Asar 20). The meeting of the central committee also asked for the final clarification to him on August 21 (Bhadra 5).

Responding to the question, Dr. Dhakal said,’ This clarification is useless. The party has not been able to submit any evidence for suspending me.’

Dr. Dhakal said he was only dismissed from the Rabi Lamichhane club, but not from the RSP.

‘I got a dismissal only from Rabi Lamichhane Club, but not from RSP. Questions were asked by Lamichhane Club, not by RSP, I am in RSP, and still as General Secretary.

Similarly, he said that the current meetings of the party were all informal. ‘It is not an official meeting, meeting and all decisions are informal,’ said Dr. Dhakal.
