Kathmandu: An employee of the electricity office has died due to electrocution in Solukhumbu headquarters Salleri, while 3 others were injured in the incident.
Provincial Police Chief DIG Chandra Kuver Khapung, Bishnu Rai, (43 years old) senior technician of Salleri Chalsa Electricity Company, died due to an electric shock. According to the province police office in Biratnagar, Rai was electrocuted while trimming the trees around the electric wires on Saturday afternoon.
Likewise, in the same incident Buddhi Rajbhandari (30) of Solududhakund municipality-6, who is working as a technical assistant at the electricity company, Tashi Sherpa (34) of the same address and Kumar Basnet (51) who also work as a wage earner in the company were injured in the same incident.
Memkumari Maskey, the financial officer of the company said the injured ones are being treated at District Hospital. Tashi Sherpa, who was injured in the incident said that the electricity company with a capacity of 630 kilowatts was cutting trees around the high-tension line when there was a sudden flow of electricity and four people were electrocuted.
Sherpa said that they were not aware of the current flow and were electrocuted when they grasped the wire.
