‘CPN (Maoist Centre) will obey whatever the public says’

Kathmandu: CPN (Maoist Centre), which was busy in the tug of war for power, came into consciousness after it was evicted from power unexpectedly. Despite the bitter ejection from power, the CPN (Maoist Centre) has taken the situation as a golden opportunity to reinforce the party.

The party has already announced to compete in the election of 2084 Bikram Sambat on its own after questions started to arise about its existence. It is the findings of the party that its thoughts and issues failed to reach the public when it started to focus on the coalition for the election.

Now, the CPN (Maoist Centre) has decided to return to the public like that of 2064 Bikram Sambat. But, what is happening inside the party? What is the agenda of the CPN (Maoist Centre)? Will the CPN (Maoist Centre) be reformed? We have discussed the matter with the former Minister and CPN (Maoist Centre) Secretary Dinanath Sharma.

What kind of discussion is going on for party reinforcement?

The discussions are going on to reinforce the party. We are discussing about going near the public and forming the party.

What will be the agenda for approaching the public?

Yesterday, chasing the King was our main agenda. Now, we will go near the public to construct the socialist economic-politics.

For Example, it is even allowed for a class to not clear the due amount of electricity. But, the public must clear the bill. The main agenda of the CPN (Maoist Centre) is to remove such a situation.

We already spent our blood and sweat yesterday. We even sacrificed. Now, good governance and prosperity are our main agenda.

It also appears like the nation is governing upon the agenda of the CPN (Maoist Centre). But, the CPN (Maoist Centre) seems to be helpless at the moment. How will you establish the agendas among the public?

In the parliamentary system, it is normal to become sometimes powerful and sometimes helpless. We were powerful when we chased the king. But, now we are appearing like helpless.

If you talk about the Nepali Congress (NC), it has fought after 2007 Bikram Sambat. But, was not NC had become helpless in history? Hence, it is not a question about helplessness and power. It is mainly about the mindset. No one can raise questions against the CPN (Maoist Centre) in terms of the ideologies. We are moving towards the public to become strong.

Reviewing my past I will return to my legacy: Mani Thapa

What will be a specific agenda for the approach?

The agenda will be good governance, development, and prosperity. We will obey whatever the public says. We will if we have committed a mistake. We will ask the public the point out our specific mistake. We will express our commitment not to repeat the mistakes.

How did the votes of the CPN (Maoist Centre) decline from 31 lakhs to less than 12 lakhs? What did the review indicate?

We formed a coalition in every election. That might have also affected our votes. We poured our votes upon the Nepali Congress or CPN (UML). While reviewing, we felt like it should not have been done.

During the time of coalition, it appeared like we failed to convey our ideologies to the public while supporting the agendas of other parties. Keeping all these matters, we will construct our upcoming strategies.

There are rumors of changing the party’s formation, before going to the public. Is it true?

There have been such discourses, but the party has not decided yet. The meeting of the standing committee and central committee might think about it.

Lastly, will CPN (Maoist Centre) uplift itself to the heights of 2064 Bikram Sambat?

It will uplift. It needs to uplift itself. If we have committed any mistakes, we will seek forgiveness and express commitment to move ahead. We are going near the public also for that reason.
