PM Oli’s response on Members of Parliament queries

Kathmandu: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has responded to the queries raised by the Members of Parliament (MPs) in the House of Representatives (HoR) meeting.

PM Oli responded to the queries of 9 MPs on Monday. This is PM Oli’s first question-answer session at Parliament in this tenure. He was appointed as PM on July 14 (Asar 30) and attained a vote of confidence on Sunday.

There is provision for 1 hour of question-answer session on 1st day of the first week of every month. However, there is no history of live interaction (question-answer session) between the Prime Minister and MPs in the parliament.

The rules of HoR were made in 2017 (2074 Bikram Sambat) and provided for live question-answer sessions of the PM and the first week of every month. But in the previous tenure of HoR, only 1 live question-answer session was held on January 18 (Poush 4, 2074). In that session, Oli was PM, and 10 MPs asked him questions., but it couldn’t go on for a long hour.

Likewise, at the time of Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ as PM it continued again. PM Oli in today’s question–answer session expressed commitment to investigate and prosecute cases of fraud through shark tank(improper transaction), use of cryptocurrency, microfinance sector and hundi, etc.
