Writ against PM Oli’s appointment in single bench of Justice Dhakal

Kathmandu: The writ filed against the appointment of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli in the Supreme Court, has fallen into the single bench of Justice Bal Krishna Dhakal.

The writ is in the 4th number, the same day when PM Oli is taking a vote of confidence, on Sunday.

Advocates Deepak Adhikari, Khagendra Kumar Chapagain, and Shailendra Kumar Gupta field writ on July 15 (Asar 31) saying that the appointment of Oli as Prime Minister as per Article 76 and Sub-Article (2) of the Constitution of Nepal is against the Constitution.

President, President’s Office, Nepali Congress Parliamentary Party leader Sher Bahadur Deuba and NC Parliamentary Party Office, CPN(UML Parliamentary Leader KP Sharma Oli and Parliamentary Party Office and  PM and PM’s office were made defendants in the writ.

The petitioner in the writ mentioned that the outing of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamla Dahal ‘Prachanda’, who was appointed as PM should go Article 3 as he didn’t attain the vote of confidence.
