Sher Bahadur Deuba: Constitution must be amended in agreement with all parties

Kathmandu: Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba has said the constitution must be amended in agreement with all political parties.

Addressing the House of Representatives (HoR) meeting, for the discussion of the proposal of a vote of confidence by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Sunday, Deuba commented about amending the constitution to make the republic and inclusivity more concrete.

He said that it was a practical approach to amend the Constitution by analyzing its strengths and weaknesses as well as reviewing its complexity.

‘The implementation of the Constitution has entered its eighth year. It has both weaknesses and strengths as well as complexities, which need to be reviewed. Reviewing and making necessary amendments are the practical approaches,’ said Deuba.

He said that it would be appropriate to have a discussion and agreement between all political parties.
