According to NEA, BPDB sent the letter to NEA  for the contract on Monday, informing the bid submitted by the NEA for the sale of 40 megawatts for 6 months of the rainy season was accepted by the relevant authorities.

Bangladesh calls NEA to sign in agreement to buy 40 megawatt of Electricity

Kathmandu: Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) has sent a letter to the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) for the purchase and sale of 40 megawatts of electricity produced in Nepal.

According to NEA, BPDB sent the letter to NEA  for the contract on Monday, informing the bid submitted by the NEA for the sale of 40 megawatts for 6 months of the rainy season was accepted by the relevant authorities.

BPDB invited bids to purchase 40 megawatts of electricity produced in Nepal, for 5 years as per the trio agreement between Bangladesh, India, and Nepal. NEA submitted the tender document for the electricity rate to be sold in the format for the sale of electricity.

Likewise, the NEA must submit the approved written notice to BPDP within 7 days. Then,  BPDP will provide the draft regarding the sales and purchase of electricity to the NEA, and the agreement should be made within 28 days of receiving the draft.

Similarly, there will be an agreement between NEA, India’s NTPC Electricity Trading Corporation NVVN, and BPDB.
