Kathmandu:  The second time the extended deadline for the completion of the Narayangadh-Butwal road widening project is expiring on July 23. The road expansion work was initiated after the agreement in 2019.

The eastern section of the project covers 65 kilometers from the Gaindakot-based Narayani Bridge to Daunne. Information Officer Khanal shared that the blacktopping of 44 km out of 130 km on both sides of the projected four-lane road has been completed. ‘One can now travel through a 27-km one-way blacktopped road along the section. The base is ready for blacktopping on the 6.6-km road,’ he shared.

Project chief of the eastern section of the Road Expansion Project, Ashish Thapa Magar said the China State Construction Engineering Corporation, which was awarded the contract for the construction, has planned to blacktop in the ready area though it has not advanced any additional work during the current deadline.
