India defeats South Africa to lift trophy of T-20 World Cup 2024

Kathmandu: India has won the title of the T-20 World Cup-2024. India defeated South Africa by 7 runs in Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, Barbados on Saturday night.

With this, India has lifted the trophy after 13 years. Earlier, India won the trophy of the ODI World Cup in 2021. And South Africa failed to win the trophy again.

Despite its repeated participation as the deserving team to lift the trophy, South Africa is lagging in the finishing. At one time, South Africa was near to win the game. The bombastic batting of Henrich Classen contributed to the chase of the team.

South Africa needed 30 runs out of 30 balls to win the match, but India snatched the match. During chasing 177 runs, South Africa was only able to make 169 runs with a loss of 8 wickets by playing all two overs.

Classen contributed 52 runs out of 27 balls. He scored 5 sixes and 2 boundaries. Hardik Pandya took 3 and Arshdeep Singh and Jaspreet Bumrah took 2 wickets each.

In the first innings, India scored 176 runs with a loss of 7 wickets. Virat Kohli scored 76 and Axar Patel scored 47 runs for the team. India succeeded in lifting the trophy without being undefeated. Previously, India won the T-20 World Cup in 2007 A.D.

With this, India has become the third nation to lift the trophy twice. Earlier, West Indies and England had lifted the trophy two times.
