MP Chauraisa: Government should not take loan for BRI Project

Kathmandu: Nepali Congress (NC) Member of Parliament (MP) Ajaya Kumar Chauraisa has said Nepal Government should not take a loan in China’s led BRI Project.

Speaking at zero time in the House of Representatives (HoR) meeting on Friday, MP Chauraisa said the government should not take a loan by saying to take BRI Project forward.

‘Now Nepal should not take loans again. Took loans at Pokhara Airport, Bhairahawa Airport and other big projects. The country is not in a position to pay those loans,’ said Chauraisa.

‘ If a person takes a loan from the bank, the bank recovers money by peeling the skin. It recovers by auctioning wealth and if the nation takes a loan it also recovers from the nation,’ said MP Chauraisa.
