South Africa reaches T20 World Cup final for first time

Kathmandu: South Africa has reached the finals of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup for the first time.

South Africa defeated Afghanistan by 9 wickets in the Brian Lara Stadium, Tarouba, Trinidad on Thursday. This is the first time that South Africa qualified for the T20 World Cup Finals.

South Africa succeeded in completing the target of 57 runs in 8.5 overs with a loss of 1 wicket. Reeza Hendricks and Captain Aiden Markram were unbeaten at 29 and 23 runs respectively. Fazalhaq Farooqi took 1 wicket for Afghanistan.

In the first innings, Azmatullah Omarzai scored 10 runs for Afghanistan. The rest of the players failed to reach a double-digit score.

Marco Jansen and Tabraiz Shamsi took 3 wickets each for South Africa. Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje took 2 wickets each for South Africa.

Now, England and India will compete in the second semifinal at 8:15 pm today. The final match of the World Cup has been scheduled for Saturday.
