Kathmandu: The staging of “Play The System” is going on at the Katha Ghera (Kausi Theatre).

The drama has been staged to mark the sixth anniversary of the Katha Ghera Production.

The drama is the Nepali Adaptation of Theresa Rebeck’s “What We Are Up Against.” Theresa wrote the story of sexism in 1992. The drama was written not long after Anita Hill accused the Supreme Court nominee Clarence Thomas of sexual harassment.

Similarly, the drama “Play The System” satirizes the patriarchal and misogynist practices in society. The drama mainly focuses on the issues of gender violence and injustice in the working space.

Generally, the patriarchal society has found the acceptance of the existence of the woman uneasy due to their presence in the working space. The drama attempts to incorporate the stories of such unpleasant experiences.
