Kathmandu: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said the benefits of democracy must be connected to the lifestyle of all the cast and the communities.
Addressing the meeting of the National Foundation for Development of Indigenous on Sunday, PM Dahal emphasized guaranteeing the rights of the Indigenous community without disturbing their rituals.
‘The Indigenous tribes are the vital basis of the identity and traditional rituals. Taking the ancestor’s land as not only the emblem of faith but also the tribes helped in the conservation and promotion of nature based on basic, traditional knowledge and skills, ‘ said PM Dahal, ‘There should be no damage to the livelihood of the tribal people, their ancestral land and natural resources. The violation of collective rights should be prevented.’
Mentioning the constitution providing various rights to the tribals including the right to equality and social justice, the prime minister recalled that under the policy of social justice and inclusion, the right of the tribals to live with dignity has been ensured.
