Most of deceased people in Kuwait’s residential fire accident confirmed as Indians

Kathmandu: Most of the deceased, in the fire at the residential building in Mangaf, Kuwait, have been confirmed as nationals of India.

According to Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior, 49 people died in the fire accident that occurred on the 6th floor of the building. The Times of India said that 41 deceased were Indians belonging to South Kerala and Tamil Nadu.

50 have been injured in the fire accident. The age of the deceased was between 20 and 50 years. Nepali workers were also in the building. 5 Nepali were injured in the fire as per the preliminary report.

Likewise, Minister of State for External Affairs, Kirti Vardhan Singh will be going to Kuwait on Thursday. It has been said that Minister Singh would understand the reason behind the fire accident with the Kuwait Government, will meet with the injured, and will bring the dead bodies to India.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed grief over the death of Indian citizens in the fire. He announced to provide relief at the rate of 2 lakh to the families of the deceased. The cause of the fire is still not clear.
