Kathmandu: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has submitted his resignation letter to President Draupadi Murmu after the latest results of the Lok Sabha Election.
The Prime Minister, along with the Cabinet, submitted the resignation, which the President accepted. The President assigns the responsibility to the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers to continue their duties until the formation of a new government.
Likewise, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secured 240 seats in the Lok Sabha election. The Modi-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) won 292 seats. And Congress-led opposition India Coalition won 234 seats.
There is uncertainty regarding the formation of the government as the majority of the votes have made the procedure uncertain. Both the coalition have called for separate meetings.
